Former pro league football player Tharumalingan, who is turning 50 years old, decided to shift to mountaineering 15 years ago when he climbed the Himalayas in Nepal. “Since then, I fell in love with mountaineering and have been doing it for 15 years,” said Tharumalingan, who lost eight fingertips due to frost bite.
