Floats parade, street dancing highlight Pangasinan Day-A A +A

LINGAYEN -- The celebration of the 434th Agew na Pangasinan (Dagupan Day) founding anniversary today, April 5, promises to be more exciting and grander than the previous year, with 40 floats and 22 street dance contingents joining in the floats parade called "Parada na Dayew: Grand Cultural Parade."
This year’s float-design and street dance competitions, which are among the main attractions of Agew na Pangasinan, are set to wow a large number of spectators who will flock to streets to witness the colorful and artistic floats march past the main thoroughfares of Lingayen
Designed by the participating local government units and some by the private sector, the floats will have themes that will showcase the livelihood, lifestyle, or culture and tradition of the city and municipality that they represent.
The street dancers, garbed with clothes made of indigenous materials, will reflect the culture, festival or history of their towns.
The Parada na Dayew is expected to showcase the participants’ distinct culture and history, and with the presence of street dancing contingents from all over the province, it is expected to pave the way for the convergence of festivals.
