MANY people are so skeptical when martial arts is sighted as possible solution for bullying, and I quote "violence is not the solution for violence". Although some agree that indeed violence should be intercepted with an “iron hand”, many are still conservative about the idea because most of the people involved in bullying are under age or teens.

Striking fear on bullies is just the same as bullying in different form. When tackling bullying cases, both bullies and those being bullied are targeted to be saved from the situation. As psychologists indicate, “the case of the bully is just as important as the case of those being bullied, circumstances is the true bully.”

No one is born to be bullies. We should not accept it is their role in this lifetime or at their stage of life and we must all take the responsibility to see to it those being bullied should be saved and those bullies should be rehabilitated.

Contrary to belief and perception that martial arts is all about physical enhancement, martial arts can be an instrument in anti bullying campaign. Martial arts can basically adjust to the needs of the student on special cases specially if guided by experts and are well versed on the two sides of the story.

As much as we want to save those bullied from bullies it must also be taken into consideration the bullies must be saved from the circumstances that made them a bully. Basing on research and studies of experts, bullies are also normal kids victimized by their unwanted background (family, environment or experiences) that evolved them into bullies.

Unknown to many who are not into martial arts, it is actually a discipline based art. The physical, emotional, mental and spiritual are being honed into perfection although it takes more than a lifetime to achieve it.

The life of a true martial artists who aims to achieve the goal of perfection, lives the life of the righteous. Although not always the good guy but someone who can get back on track if ever they go astray.

Using martial arts for the anti-bullying campaign will and should be effective when the right people are tapped to handle the situation of bullying.

Issues on why bullies exist should be first addressed before venturing into martial arts, which must be in the rehabilitation process.

Under the rehab process, bullies will be trained to take responsibility for their action, understanding that their built, power and or physical advantage is a gift that must be used to protect and not to destroy. Bullies must be thought the true spirit if a warrior that before every battle, there should be diplomacy.

Fighting and hurting people is the last option or as other martial artists term “it is never part of the option” when you retaliate against any violence or in any way inflict is not martial arts.
