Anything can happen

IN PHILIPPINE POLITICS, the weird, unusual and surprising scenarios happen. Strange bedfellows, awkward tandems and combinations arise to "mesmerize" the voters, but of course only a few last.

It is still one year and less than 10 months before the 2016 elections but already alliances, coalitions and posturings are evident. As usual, so many participants cast their lot in costly presidential elections, billions at the most, and more!

There is the idea circulating around especially in Congress about making amendments or changes in the Constitution to suit PNoy's probable second term, which is prohibited under the present rule, but could be changed in order to allow the incumbent president to run again.

Sensing that there are no worthy challengers to PNoy (except perhaps Erap Estrada), the supporters of the president and members of the ruling and dominant party, the LP, think PNoy would be unbeatable in 2016. While the President is still lukewarm to the idea of a second term, he might change his mind, upon seeing the snowballing support that goes in his favor.

Anything can happen between now and the date of the elections. There are even punsters who toy with the idea of a PNoy-Naybi tandem and why not? It would be very formidable!

As for Roxas, he comes in too strong, too gross, plastic, in ordinary street lingo. He lacks the charisma of his boss and is even perceived as arrogant especially in the Visayas.

Ironically, Roxas comes from Capiz in the Visayas.

Out of the woodwork, a possible dark horse would be Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., of Ilocos Norte. Who knows? He and his family still have clout, money and power. Marcos pa rin?

Anything can happen in Philippine politics.

Locally, Sen. Lito Lapid may try his luck in Angeles City against the well-organized network of Mayor Edgardo " Edpam" Pamintuan, who has worked wonders for the city, achieving even world fame as a mayor. Pagandahan na lang ng lalaki. Of course, Mayor Ed can give Sen. Lito a good run for his money.

Zosimo Gasmin, Jr., of the Mabalacat City Mayor's security detail would like to thank several people who helped facilitate financial assistance to this wife, Marites who was confined at the Dr. Armando Garcia Medical Center, Angeles City for Renal Cell carcinoma. DZMM staff Ruby Tayag, Anthony Taberna, Gerry Baja, Jun Lincoran and Zaldy Naguit so graciously
prepared the referral letter to PCSO chair Jose Ferdinand Rojas I who acted favorably. Many thanks, good people! May your tribe increase ten-fold!
