"TEACH them how to fish, and they will be empowered in the days to come."
Expressing these wise words, Angeles City Mayor ED D. PAMINTUAN, inspire
Angelenas/Angelenos to stand tall on the hill of empowerment.
Particularly, he stirs women to step on the pathway of enterprise.
What a vibrant leader! Mayor Edpam awakens our citizens from the 33 barangays to unlock the gateway of opportunity and abundance.
GAD (Gender and Development)
GAD Officer Poyen P. David, likewise, steers Angelenas to walk on the byway of success.
Striding across the gateway of commercial trade, a business person can enkindle the dazzling lamp of wealth. Officer Poyen encourages budding entrepreneurs with her sterling insights as she shares these ideals: “Yes to the lighthouse of positivity, prowess and progress.”
You and I can walk on the crossroads of prosperity and peace. You and I are constantly faced with the choice of winning vis-à-vis the crisis of defeat. Bursting forth with opportunities, this 21st century is an amazing labyrinth of wonders. Your dream to become a champion is possible.
To women entrepreneurs my vital message is this…Go. Go. Go for a winning business.”
Truly, leader Poyen David lights up the lantern of entrepreneurship.
A major program they focus on is their partnership with the Coke-Tesda group. They move and support the Filipino women who own small retail (sari-sari) stores.
STAR was conceived to give selected women sari-sari operators a training on managing their business, including access to financing, peer mentoring support, and merchandising through the help of public and private sectors.
TESDA said 68 trainers and 7,284 women nationwide had availed of the program. The training will be expanded this year and onward until the 100,000 goal is achieved.
In Angeles City, we saw Mayor Ed Pamintuan and Gad leader Poyen David shake the hands of Ms. Joy Munsayac (Regional Coke representative) and regional TESDA officers during the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on the convergence program of Coke-Tesda Star3 program.
Mayor Ed enthused:
“Upholding our principles on women empowerment, we are happy to welcome the Coke-Tesda program in Angeles City. Together let us link hands in reaching out to women sari-sari store owners. What a great 2014 it is!”
As of to-date, an initial batch of 70 trainees are participating in the Tesda Coca Cola S3Star program. They will graduate this August.
Kudos to Mayor Edpam and Poyen David. Furthermore,I take off my hat to Mam Joy Munsayac and to Tesda leaders for their noble mission.
To all women sari-sari store owners, hallelujah to you in journey. Go for success!
