INC Centennial

PRESIDENT Benigno Aquino III has proclaimed Year 20l4 as Iglesia ni Cristo Centennial Year.

This declaration aims to enhance public awareness of the INC's contribution to national development.

In Pampanga, the best witness to and grateful beneficiary of the Iglesia's political and social responsibility is Angeles City.

As a decisive factor in the last electoral contest, the INC’s wise and commendable support to City Mayor Pamintuan led Angelenos to great rejoicing. The church leaders’ responsiveness to the general clamor of the residents (for EdPam) reflected the INC’s social consciousness and its deep insight into what a progressive truly community needs.

The Iglesia’s achievements in transforming people’s lives through religion, humanitarian activities, socio-economic development, and community building programs are a proud record anywhere.

Its greatest legacy as a dynamic force in democracy is based on its traditional support of qualified, tested, and God-fearing elective public servants. The INC has stringent requirements for good governance, high ethical and moral values for local leaders with consistent integrity and credibility. It has contributed to the growth and development of Angeles City by endorsing and helping capable leaders win in elections.

Specifically, for its past support to worthy candidates and its alliance with residents of similar values, the INC has gained new adherents and immense public goodwill in the city.

Mayor Pamintuan and city officials lead Angelenos in joining their INC brethren in their Centennial observance July 27. As long as he performs well, works for the general good, and remains untarnished, we hope the INC keeps its trust and confidence in the high achieving mayor and together work for a peaceful and prosperous city.

If there are three individuals who deserve public censure for their reproachable conduct, they are Elvira Obana, NFA-Pampanga Director and Fr. Reynaldo Dela Cruz, parish priest of Betis, Pampanga.

Obana is remised in her duty in preventing rice retailers and officials of farmers’ cooperation who collude among themselves to acquire NFA rice which they market wholesale to suspect rice millers in Bulacan.

The leaders of the licensed rice procurement gangs at the NFA warehouse in Sindalan have been at it for decades, apparently with the support and acquiescence of previous Directors including media-savvy Obana.

Parish Priest Fr. Reynaldo Dela Cruz, in legal parlance, is liable for infidelity in the custody of church relics in the Betis parish church. In his watch, two robbery incidents of priceless statue parts had been perpetrated.

As the Archdiocese does not practice a “strike one” policy on erring clerics, may be a third case of theft of similar items, will constrain his superiors to take ecclesial action on Fr. Reynaldo’s negligence. Parishioners are losers by thousand of pesos in ransom money for the buy-bust retrieval of the religious articles.

With his reelection bid (20l6) in mind, Porac Mayor C. Dela Cruz is reportedly playing politics in the protracted land conflict at Hacienda Dolores. The mayor’s ambivalence and indecisive stand on the issue has not given Gov. Lilia Pineda the necessary guidance and advice on a problematic situation.

In this set up, Nanay Baby reportedly sought the practical appraisal and honest counsel of Board Member Michael Tapang whose advice she has found beneficial on legal, moral, and political grounds. Mike is definitely inching his way to the mayorship, according to Capitol sources.
