ANGELES CITY -- Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan has assured that priority infrastructure projects will be completed in December this year or a month before the Asia Pacific Economic Conference (Apec) summit in 2015.

The mayor said that the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) will fund some of the projects, including the Balibago Circle and the beautification of the perimeter fence along the Don Juico Avenue.

CDC president Arthur Tugade said the Balibago Circle project, which includes a sun dial in the middle of the road, will start in October and will be completed by December.

A sundial is a device that tells the time of day by the position of the sun. In common designs such as the horizontal sundial, the sun casts a shadow from its style onto a surface marked with lines indicating the hours of the day.

The road leading to the Clark Freeport will also be widened to prevent congestion during the influx of tourists and visitors.

Pamintuan said the city government recently cleared the perimeter fence from illegal structures.

“We were assured by Tugade that all of the projects will be completed by December,” Pamintuan said.

The mayor also announced that construction in major thoroughfares in the city will be finished by October 25 based on the schedule given by the contractors.

He also disclosed that the city government will implement parallel parking in a bid to regulate flow of traffic within the city.
