Retired policeman slain

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga -- Two armed men gunned down a retired police officer during a drinking session in Barangay Bulusukan, San Ildefonso, Bulacan, Wednesday.

Sixto Mones, 56, a retired police officer and a resident of Barangay Akle, San Ildefonso town, was shot dead by the gunmen both wearing bull caps and white t-shirts.

The victim was with other companions having a drinking session when the suspects arrived and shot him, the report said.


Despite of his gunshot wounds, the victim tried to escape from the place and ran towards a rice field but fell on the ground, the report said.

The suspects then shot the victim several times and died on the spot.

Police recovered inside the victim's house three fired bullets and seven spent shells from caliber .45 pistol.
