BACOLOR -- Tycoon Manuel Pangilinan is expected to attend the inauguration of the new building of the Kapampangan Development Foundation (KDF) here, which is expected to help boost the free medical services offered by the non-government group, a KDF trustee said.

KDF Trustee Sylvia Ordonez said the new building will be inaugurated on July 14 and will be named MVP Building after its donor. The building was donated by Pangilinan and the PLDT-SMART-Foundation (PSF) to KDF.

KDF is chaired by Pangilinan.

The new building will house the KDF-PSF People with Disability Clinic and Livelihood Center. Ordonez said building will be a great help to KDF programs and services as they expand their reach not just to Kapampangans but the whole of Region 3.

KDF was established by Kapampangans living outside of Pampanga to provide development, medical, and social programs for Pampanga.

KDF, with its operations base at the Jose A. Datu Medical Center, has been able to facilitate the distribution of hundreds of leg prosthesis to amputees of Pampanga, provide dozens of reconstructive facial surgeries and cataract operations to indigents. The group is also doing livelihood-training programs in Pampanga.

KDF was founded in 1987 by Rizalino Navarro, the late Bro. Andrew Gonzalez FSC, Cesar Villanueva, Jose Araullo and Benny Ricafort.

The group has also established at least 10 rural-based Well Family Midwife Centers in partnership with Well-Family Midwife Clinic Partnerships Foundation Inc., Norphil Foundation, Physicians for Peace, and Soroptimist Clubs of Pampanga.

Since the rebirth of KDF some years ago, it has achieved unparalleled social service to Kapampangans.

The KDF has been instrumental in the conduct of reconstructive facial surgery among indigent children with facial deformities, the conduct of free maternal and child service missions and the promotion of local livelihood projects for communities.
