CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga -- Passengers and bus personnel panicked after an alleged ticking clock with an alleged bomb suspected to be inside Victory Liner Shipping Section in Olongapo City, recently.

Senior Superintendent Pedrito Reyes, Olongapo City police director, said that Victory Liner Security Supervisor, Officer-In-Charge and a certain Parilla reported to police the alleged bomb.

Upon receipt of the information, Delos Reyes said he has dispatched a police team to cordon the area.

A police team led by Inspector Mark Anthony instructed all passengers and bus personnel to evacuate the area and clear obstructions such as buses and private vehicles, he said.

Delos Reyes said bomb technician SPO1 Melchor Catigday also responded and immediately conducted an initial investigation.

He said that Special Action Force (SAF) from 25th company 2nd Battalion, K-9 and other bomb technicians conducted an inspection to 70 packages at the shipping section and found the suspected package with markings Anvaya Cove Beach and Nature Club Inc.

The box contained a Kenwood handheld radio with no name of sender and recipient and misdeclared.

Delos Reyes said he has ordered a thorough investigation on the sender of the said handheld radio because it created panic among the commuters and bus personnel of Victory Liner.

After several hours of inspection and no bomb was found, Delos Reyes announced that the area was safe.
