BACOLOR -- A 48-year-old close-in aide of Bacolor Mayor Jose Maria "Jomar" Hizon was shot dead by motorcycle riding criminals (MRCs) early morning Sunday at Barangay San Isidro in this town.
Chief Inspector Dan Gallano, Bacolor police chief, identified the victim as Danny Mar Danganan, former municipal and barangay councilor.
He said the victim had just arrived home from his eatery business located at the public market when shot at close range by MRCs in front of his residence past 8 a.m.
In his report to Senior Superintendent Marlon Madrid, Officer-in-Charge of the Pampanga Provincial Police Office (PPO), Gallano said the victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds in different parts of his body and died on the spot.
Hizon said Danganan is one of his aides but recently asked permission to go on leave and put-up a small restaurant business.
Danganan was added to the list of Hizon's supporters killed by MRCs.
The cases remain unsolved.
Last year, three of Hizon's political leaders were also gunned down in Barangay Madapdap, Mabalacat City, while on their way home to the Madapdap Resettlement Center shortly before the barangay elections.
Hizon said he is going to bring the case to the National Bureau of Investigation) and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Camp Crame to help local police in the probe.
"I will seek for an in depth investigation about the incident," said Hizon over the phone.
Gallano said police investigators recovered seven spent shells from a caliber .45 pistol at the crime scene. He added a special investigation task group was created to supervise the ongoing probe.
