CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Provincial Board (PB) led by Vice-Governor Dennis "Delta" Pineda lauded the Australian Government's Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) for providing 80 school classrooms in various public elementary and high schools in Pampanga.

Provincial Board Resolution No. 3354 stated that 80 classrooms will definitely enhance the education program that will ultimately develop the full potentials of the youth.

The AusAID classroom beneficiaries include Apalit with a total of four classrooms; Arayat, two; Candaba, four; Floridablanca, eight; Mabalacat City, 12; Magalang, 12; Mexico, eight; Porac, eight; San Luis, four; Sta. Ana, eight and the City of San Fernando, 16.

It was learned that the Australian government through the AusAID, in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd), launched the school building program for basic education by providing the sum of AUD$20-million to finance the construction of 800 classrooms in high need areas in Region 3 and 4A for a period of 20 months.

During the inauguration of two buildings with four classrooms in San Isidro Resettlement Elementary School recently, DepEd Secretary Armin Luistro said the school building program for basic education seeks to improve the educational environment through the provision of quality school buildings and at the same time, to provide learners appropriate classroom packages in terms of school furniture suitable for their learning requirements.

Luistro said that the AusAID has been a partner of the DepEd for almost two decades in providing quality education services to Filipino children. (Joel P. Mapiles/Pampanga PIO)
