MAGALANG -- A public elementary school in this town on Wednesday received two new buildings from the Australian government.

In simple inaugural rites, the Australian government represented by Ambassador Bill Tweddell and Education Secretary Armin Luistro turned over the two newly school constructed buildings with four classrooms each to officials of the San Isidro Resettlement Elementary School here.

The buildings were built and funded by Australian Aid in the amount of P5.8-million each under the first phase of its classroom construction initiative.

The Philippines and Australia, according to Luistro, are strengthening their partnership geared towards improving the quality of basic education by providing Filipino schoolchildren with better and safer learning environments.

"The Australian Aid has been a partner of DepEd for almost two decades now in providing quality education services to Filipino children," said Luistro.

Gracing the turn over rites were First District Representative Joseller "Yeng" Guiao, First District Board Member Cherry Manalo, Mayors Romulo Pecson of Magalang, Rene Maglanque of Candaba, Emmanuel "Bon" Alejandrino of Arayat, Condralito Dela Cruz of Porac, DepEd Regional Director Isabelita Borres, Dr. Leonardo Zapanta, schools division superintendent, Division of Pampanga, and Evangeline S. Camiling, school principal, San Isidro Resettlement Elementary School.
