Tandem riders rob hardware store

CAMP OLIVAS -- Four armed men on board two motorcycles robbed a hardware store along MacArthur Highway in Barangay Saguin, City of San Fernando, recently.

In a report here, city police director Superintendent Edilberto Pitallano said that the robbers armed with short firearms forcibly entered the Northern Steel Hardware in the said barangay.

Pitallano said that the robbers were on board a black Honda motorcycle and blue Honda Wave all wearing gloves, bonnet and armed with caliber .9mm pistols.


Police said that the robbers parked their motorcycles near the establishment's guardhouse and grabbed the gun of the security guard and pushed him inside.

The owner of the store, a certain Hanzon Sy saw the suspects and ran inside and tried to lock the door but failed.

Once inside, the suspects shouted "Dapa! Pera lang ang habol namin. Ilabas niyo na!"

Police said that the robbers carted away three bags containing a laptop and five cellular phones and cash amounting P30,000.

Recovered from the crime scene were spent shell and one fired slug from a caliber .9mm pistol. (Ric Sapnu)
