CAMP OLIVAS -- The wife of Manuel Amalilio, founder of Aman Future Group Philippines Inc., who lured some P12 billion from their victims, was apprehended by the Regional Intelligence Division (RID3) inside a restaurant at Barangay Dolores, City of San Fernando, Pampanga, last Friday.

In a press conference Tuesday, Chief Superintendent Raul Petransanta, Police Regional Office-3 (PRO3) director, said that Abigail Pendulas, 26, wife and one of the co-conspirators of the said pyramid scam was nabbed by operatives of the RID3 led by Chief Inspector Melvin Montante.

Petrasanta said Pendulas, a native of Olotanga, Zamboanga City and his companion identified as May Leechelle Ohales were relaxing and enjoying the food and ambience at Party Place Restaurant located along MacArthur Highway in Barangay Dolores when collared by RID3 operatives.

He said Ohales tried to help Pendulas elude arrest by “creating a scene” but was pacified by RID3 personnel.

Pendulas was arrested by virtue of an Alias Warrant issued by Judge Alberto Quinto of the Regional Trial Court 12th Judicial Region Branch 1, Iligan City under Criminal Case No. 16602 for Syndicated Estafa with no bail recommended, said Petrasanta.

He said thru their informant “natumbok namin kung nasaan si Pendulas kaya naman agaran namin siyang hinuli. Our informant positively identified Pendulas even if she already has a different face before.” Pendulas got a nose job to change her physical appearance, police said.

Petrasanta said that Pendulas is using the names of Assian de Guzman and was carrying fake identification cards like one from the Bureau of Internal Revenue. The only ID that is not fake is her passport, he said.

As of now PRO3 still investigating if there is a cash reward money for her arrest, Petrasanta said.

Meanwhile, Ohales was arrested by RID3 personnel for obstruction of justice and charged before the Office of Inquest Prosecutor Nereo Dela Cruz, City of Prosecutor’s Office, City of San Fernando last May 3.

Petrasanta said the arresting police team also recovered a Toyota FJ Cruiser.

Amalilio, who is presently detained in Malaysia has victimized 15,000 investors in Visayas and Mindanao. Most of the Aman victims are politicians, police, military personnel, government employees, market vendors, farmers, drivers and even overseas Filipino workers.

Pendulas is presently detained at the Intelligence Operation Service for documentation while awaiting turn over to the court of origin, said Petrasanta. (Ric Sapnu)
