ANGELES CITY— Security guards, who prevented an alleged carnapping incident at the Nepo Center recently, received commendation from various groups including JDN Sons Inc.

Because of the immediate action of members of the Glocke Security personnel, the suspect --- Marlon Paras, 32, of Barangay Sta. Teresita -- was reportedly prevented from stealing a van and kidnapping Gloria Suarez, a businesswoman from this city, on March 25.

Paras was charged with carnapping, attempted kidnapping, illegal possession of bladed weapon and reckless imprudence resulting to damage to properties.

The suspect is out on bail after reportedly posting a P200,000 bail.

JDN Sons Inc. president Arnie Valdes said they recognized the effort of the security personnel.

The security personnel coordinated with elements of the Police Station 1 of the Angeles City Police Office (ACPO), led by Senior Inspector Darwin Barbosa, who then went to the area.

JDN Sons, Inc. is the owner and developer of Nepo Center.

The security guards who received a certificate of commendation during the "Araw ng Parangal" held at the Nepo Center were Ronald Morilla, Joel Ariola, Abraham Cipriano, Mark Kris dela Vega, Jenny Espanola, Ricard Sandot.

Valdes also commended the Nepo Center maintenance personnel, Anthony Miclat, for putting steel barricades that prevented the escape of Suarez.

Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan will award a plaque of recognition to the security personnel during a flag-raising ceremony at the city hall today.

Chief Inspector Kenneth Vega, Police Station 1 chief, said the ACPO is also set to give commendations to the police officers and security personnel who responded to the incident. (RGN)
