CAMP OLIVAS -- A bomb threat was received on Tuesday by the Pampanga Regional Trial Court (RTC) located at Jomafer Supermarket building in Barangay San Agustin, City of San Fernando, where arrested Globe Asiatique developer Delfin Lee will be arraigned Friday.
In a report here, Superintendent Frederick Petillano, chief of police of the City of San Fernando, said that lawyer Joy Floria Balleta of the Office of the Clerk Court who is attending Department of Interior and Local Government meeting in Nueva Ecija received the bomb threat in a text message.
Balleta then forwarded the text message to Prosecutor Marlyn Surla, assistant provincial prosecutor, he said.
Surla immediately informed Executive Judge Edgardo Chua of RTC Branch 47.
The text message read "Pasasabugin namin buong building nyo, idadamay namin lahat ng empleado ng korte, kaya namin kayo."
Operatives from the Explosive Office Division led by Senior Inspector Omar Villavicencio, chief of the Technical Support from the Regional Public Safety Battalion and Special Weapons Team led by Inspector Omar Bognot and K-9 unit of the Pampanga Police responded and inspected every room of the RTC branches from 41 to 48 at the second and third floors of the building, the report said.
During the course of their clearing operation, Petillano said that a suspicious black bag wrapped in a local newspaper at Branch 47 when inspected, contained a Bible owned by a certain Angelito Domingo, sheriff of the court.
Lee was supposed to be arraigned last Monday at the Pampanga RTC for syndicated estafa cases.
However, the arraignment was postponed by Judge Amifaith Reyes until Friday. (Ric Sapnu)
