Guv: P139-M projects for Sta. Rita, Guagua-A A +A

STA. RITA -- Governor Lilia Pineda reported Wednesday that some P139,239,454 worth of infrastructure projects have been implemented in this town and neighboring Guagua town during the Kapitolyo sa Barangay program here.
Pineda who spoke before a joint gathering of indigents, public officials and beneficiaries at the Sta. Rita covered court said that some P75 million and P64 million where given to Guagua and Sta. Rita, respectively.
The projects included some P9 million worth of school building projects, P1 million worth of comfort room facilities, P29 million in road canal works, another P1 million in other infrastructure works in Guagua town.
The Diosdado Macapagal Memorial Hospital, located in Barangay San Matias, Guagua also received some P34 million.
Sta. Rita town, for its part, got some P7 million for school buildings, P1 million for covered courts, P49 for canals and bridge works and another P3 million for multi-purpose covered court projects.
Sta. Rita Mayor Yolanda Pineda thanked the governor for the continuous support to this town. She said that the development works infused in Sta. Rita town has made it more attractive for tourism and economic promotion.
“We are happy that Governor Pineda has never stopped in also bringing needed social services in Sta. Rita. Her support to the people of this town is greatly appreciated,” Mayor Pineda said.
The “Kapitolyo sa Barangay” aims to bring the programs and services of the provincial government closer to the people who are in need of assistance.
The governor said that the Capitol is eyeing to reach out to the people of the 505 barangays of the province in a span of two months within the first quarter of the year.
