CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Pampanga Third District Representative Oscar Rodriguez conduct an investigation into the alleged “missing” P30 billion allocated for infrastructure projects during the past national administration.

This was learned from Eastern Samar Representative Ben Evardone, who said that Rodriguez, chair of the committee on good government and public accountability, will lead the probe where the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) officials led by Secretary Rogelio Singson will be summoned to shed light on the alleged "missing funds."

"Public works officials have admitted discovering releases of agency funds amounting to at least P30 billion, allegedly spent and left unaccounted for by the previous administration, including a 2008 P100-million, 12-kilometer road construction project in the town of Mataas na Kahoy in Batangas, which remains unfinished," said Evardone, adding a certain contractor named Edwin Gardiola allegedly failed to submit accomplishment reports to the DPWH on projects worth some P6 billion.

"It is important for the House to know where the missing funds went, since it is the chamber that has principal responsibility for allocating taxpayers’ money. We are confident that with Congressman Rodriguez, who is an advocate of good governance and transparency leading the committee inquiry, we would be able to get the results we want," said Evardone.
