CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The City Government of San Fernando has lined up a series of service-based activities in celebration of its 13th Cityhood Anniversary or Kaganapan 2014 in line with the theme "Fernandino Ing Mumuna, Fernandino Ing Manimuna."

The programs will run from January 25 to February 23 and will promote the current social service programs of the Santiago administration. The activities include the celebration of Pedro Abad Santos Day today and the City Clean up Day on Saturday.

The event will also include the groundbreaking of the Organic Trading Post on February 5. The post will be used in the processing and trading of organic produce from the city’s One Crop, One Barangay program. The products are mainly produced through organic farming practices.

The city will also hold the Best Practices Sharing of Model MRF (Materials Recovery Facilities) on February 6 to give different sectors here a better grasp of ecological waste management practices and more effective ways of handling waste in the barangay level. The event will be held at Barangay Del Pilar and will be followed by a bloodletting at the Heroes Hall.

A livelihood event and pet show will also be held on February 7 and 8, respectively. The city will also launch its official website on February 9 at the Heroes Hall.

Northville residents here will also be able to avail of medical services on February 12 during the city’s medical mission. February 13 will signal the opening of the city’s first ever Agri-Fisheries and Organic Trade Fair at the Paskuhan Village followed by a Zumba event for fitness enthusiasts.

The city will also be launching the grassroots Barangay-Based Fernandino Card. The event will be capped by the medical and dental mission at Northville 14.
