CLARK FREEPORT — The Yokohama Tire Philippines Inc. (YTPI) hosted the assemblage of 11 foreign dignitaries from Japan recently headed by Ichita Yamamoto, Minister of State for Okinawa and Northern Territories Affairs.

It has been reported that the minister’s purpose of visit is to inspect and learn from the Philippines’ conversion of former US military and naval bases for civilian use.

Similar to Clark and Subic, Okinawa has served as the US troops’ military base in the past, contrary to the favor of its residents.

This visit to the Philippines is a step to relieve the tension between its local community and the Japanese government and Okinawa prefecture’s development.

YTPI is one of the selected companies within Clark to accommodate this diplomatic visit.
