CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- "We are jubilating today for two ladies who gave it up all for God as they celebrate life for a cause."

This was how Fr. Deogracias "Kerr" Galang, one of 10 priests who concelebrated the Holy Eucharist Wednesday, described the mother and daughter tandem of Laus Group of Companies (LGC) executives Ma. Theresa Laus and Carissa Laus-Manalili, as friends, relatives and associates cheered for another year of the twin birthday bash at Max's Villa Del Sol in the City of San Fernando.

Galang noted that he and his fellow priests in the recent Holy Week presentation of "Tulauk ning Manuk" (Rooster's Crow) -- where the Laus Family were among the lead benefactors -- were touched by how the two ladies considered it "all for the Glory of God."

"Indeed, giving it all up for the Glory of God is one of the best blessings you can have. As they say, it takes time to be young and today, we celebrate life for a cause as exemplified by Mom Tess and daughter Carissa," he said.

The younger Laus, who is a low-profile benefactor for charitable institutions, expressed her gratitude for "the many blessings the Lord shower her and the family."

Mom Tess, who has always been acknowledged and credited by husband LGC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Levy P. Laus as "the only woman behind the success of the family and the conglomerate," meanwhile admitted being "overwhelmed" by the love and joy shared by new and long-time friends, relatives and business associates.

"I am so overwhelmed by the expression of love by the many who shared this memorable day with us. All I wish for and pray to the Almighty is good health and a long life so we can continue to share our blessings to others. Praise God for this wonderful celebration of life!" said the Laus matriarch.
