Sunday, October 20, 2013 - 11:06 p.m.

ST. PETE BEACH, Florida -- The west coast of Florida along the Gulf of Mexico particularly the beach of Clearwater, an adjacent city of St. Petersburg, had been recently voted “Best Town Beach in the US 2013” for its clean coastline, powdery sand, and azure sea reminding me of the coastal areas all over the Caribbean which I visited in the 80s.

The coastline of Clearwater, St. Petersburg, Treasure Island, Madeira Beach, Redington Shores, Indian Shores, Indian Rocks, Belleair Beach and the relatively unheard keys up to the Caladesi Island State Park – will beat our very own Boracay hands down. No offense but commercialization had already affected the natural beauty of Boracay.

Ocampo: The Power of Financial Information

Wednesday, August 7, 2013 - 01:11 a.m.

IT IS said that “Knowing is winning half the battle”. In the Art of War, a general has to know the strength of the enemy before he engages his men in a battle. If your enemy is stronger than you are, defer your fight until you are stronger enough to win the fight or defer it until such time that your enemy has weakened. Knowledge is indeed power.

In the corporate world, an unending war rages among industry competitors. In the soft drinks industry for example, a Cola War between Coca-Cola and Pepsi Cola has been raging for decades. The survival of a company depends on its competitiveness as it conducts its business (the fight) in the market (the battlefield).
