ACTOR Piolo Pascual has once again proved that he is more than just a "hottie" boy next door, as he joined this year's Ironman 70.3 Philippines.

Representing the TriTeam of Sun Life of Canada (Philippines) Inc., Pascual and his fellow members Jan Michael Chiu and Antonio Ty ranked 27th in the relay all-male division with 6:34:02 elapsed time.

The 37-year-old actor competed in the bike category, while Chiu and Ty raced in the swim and leg run, respectively.

The triathlon was held last August 3 in Shangri-la Mactan Resort and Spa.

In a press conference a day before the race, Pascual shared how he juggled his Ironman training with his busy schedule.

The "Hawak Kamay" leading man said he usually brings his bike to tapings to exercise and practice during down time.

Pascual and his son Inigo, also a Sun Life brand ambassador, love to bond over sports activities.

“I’m very thankful that my Sun Life family is behind me in this pursuit,” he said.

“Sun Life advocates a brighter life and that includes making sure that your health is also in check,” the Kapamilya actor added.

Meanwhile, multi-awarded Cebuano designer Kenneth Cobonpue, who is also an ambassador of the financial company, designed the medals and trophies for the Ironman 70.3 Philippines.
