THE University Athletic Association of the Philippines, barely coming off a two-week Christmas break, will pause for another Season 77 break in deference for the January 15-19 visit of Pope Francis

After the last playdate of the first round on Sunday which features the much awaited women's volleyball Finals rematch between defending champion Ateneo and De La Salle at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, there will be no matches scheduled during Pope Francis' stay in the Philippines.

Action in the second round begins on January 21.

Hostilities in the football competitions will also take a week-long break after the January 14 doubleheader at the FEU-Diliman pitch. Action will resume on January 21 with two matches apiece at the FEU-Diliman and Moro Lorenzo Football Field in Ateneo.

The opening weekend matches (Rounds 1 and 2) in the Season 77 chess tournament is set on January 10-11 at Henry Sy Sr. Building inside the De La Salle campus before it also takes a break.
