Revilla calls for resignation of DILG chief-A A +A

SENATOR Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. on Tuesday called for the resignation of Interior and Local Government Secretary Manuel Roxas II, as he scored the Cabinet official's ineffectiveness in performing his job.
"If I were him, I would rather resign the soonest time to save my face and the Aquino administration. It would be better for him to be an adviser of the President rather than forcing himself in his present position," Revilla said.
The senator said Roxas is not in any way helping the administration of President Benigno Aquino III, as he further said that the performance of the Secretary in the aftermath of Typhoon Yolanda only proved his worth.
"Siya ang nakakaawa dahil puro problema ang binigay niya sa administrasyon na ito," Revilla said.
Revilla said Roxas is only a liability to the present administration, as he belittled the performance of Roxas when the latter was still Secretary of the Department of Transportation and Communication.
"Siya din ang Secretary nuon nagkaroon ng problema sa mga plaka ng mga sasakyan. pati na rin ang LRT (Light Rail Transit) at MRT (Metro Rail Transit). Even our peace and order situation is now suffering. Palpak lahat ang trabaho niya," Revilla said.
Last year, Revilla also tagged Roxas as obsessed in running after his family after some police authorities ransacked their house in Cavite.
The senator had earlier said Roxas personally drove him to Malacañang, where the President supposedly asked him to convict former Chief Justice Renato Corona during the Supreme Court official's impeachment trial in 2012. (Camille P. Balagtas/Sunnex)
