MANILA -- An alleged drug den owner and a suspected school and hotel drug pusher were arrested by the members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in separate buy-bust operations in Iloilo and Cebu, early this year.
In Cebu City, PDEA operatives arrested a suspected drug pusher who preys on high school students and hotel employees as his regular clients during a buy-bust operation on January 7, 2014.
The alleged suspect identified as Reggie Clifford Pacquiao, alias Jecjec, 33, was arrested by PDEA members of Regional Office 7 (PDEA RO7), in his house after allegedly selling suspected shabu to a PDEA poseur-buyer in the afternoon of January 7.
PDEA confiscated from Pacquiao 59 sachets of suspected shabu, 78 rolls of aluminum foil strips, and the two P100-peso bills used as buy-bust money during the operation.
Cacdac said that Pacquiao was the subject of numerous complaints from parents, school and barangay authorities for peddling illegal drugs to secondary level students in a school nearby.
“Aside from pushing shabu to students, he [Pacquiao] also counts hotel workers as his regular customers since he is an on-call hotel steward. He was arrested several years ago for similar offense,” Cacdac said.
Pacquiao was brought to PDEA RO7 detention facility together with the confiscated pieces of evidence for proper documentation.
Pacquiao will be facing charges for violating several laws on the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, in Iloilo, morning of January 9, PDEA Regional Office 6 (RO6) agents conducted an entrapment operation in a house owned by a certain Jodie Dedoroy, alias Nonoy Piang, 42, of Dumangas, Iloilo.
According to the drug enforcement agency, Dedoroy allegedly sold a sachet of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu, to a PDEA RO6 agent who acted as poseur-buyer.
PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. said in further search in the house, they yielded 32 more sachets of suspected shabu.
Dedoroy’s visitor identified as Arjie Demagajes, alias Nonoy Arj, 46 from Dumangas Iloilo was also apprehended since he was present in the suspected drug den when the operation was conducted.
“Investigations revealed that the house was being utilized as a drug den where illegal drugs, particularly shabu, are frequently sold rather than used,” Cacdac said.
Dedoroy and Demagajes were detained and will be facing charges for violating several laws on the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002. (Sunnex)
