NLEX: Manila-bound traffic heavy as Pinoys return from holidays

-A A +A

Monday, January 6, 2014

TRAFFIC at the Metro Manila-bound portion of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) grew heavy before dawn Monday as people returned from their vacation in the provinces.

In posts on its Twitter account, NLEX noted heavy traffic at the Balintawak southbound (Manila-bound) part and advised motorists to use the Mindanao exit.

As of 5:40 a.m., it noted "heavy traffic at Balintawak southbound."

Also, it said traffic had become "moderate to heavy" at the Balintawak southbound portion "due to high volume of vehicles."

While some Filipinos began to return from the provinces as early as January 1, most of those who went to the provinces extended their stay until last weekend. (JK/Sunnex)
