IRR of K to 12 program to be signed-A A +A

THE implementing rules and regulations (IRR) of the Enhance Basic Education or the K to 12 program is set to be signed on Wednesday.
"Department of Education (DepEd) together with the Commission on Higher Education (Ched) and the Technical Education Skills Development Authority (Tesda) will sign the IRR of the 'Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013 (Republic Act No. 10533),' on Wednesday at the Don Alejandro Roces National High School in Quezon City, DepEd said in a statement Tuesday.
"The signing of the IRR will mark the full implementation of this much-anticipated milestone in Philippine Education. This will continue to equip our learners and the entire Filipino nation with a globally-competitive system of education," DepEd said.
Education Secretary Armin Luistro, Tesda Director General Joel Villanueva, and Ched Chairperson Patricia Licuanan will be the presenters at the signing.
President Benigno Aquino III signed K to 12 into law on May. It mandates one year of kindergarten, six years of elementary education, and six years of secondary education -- four years junior high and two years senior high. (CPT/Sunnex)
