SENATOR Francis "Chiz" Escudero and fiancé Heart Evangelista will be married on February 15, 2015.

In an article published by The Philippine Star on Thursday, Escudero said the wedding will take place a day after Evangelista's birthday at the exclusive Balesin Island Club in Quezon.

Escudero said only 100 guests will be invited, mostly the their closest friends and family.

A bigger wedding will take place the following day, February 16, in Manila to accommodate most of their friends and colleagues from the show business and politics.

Evangelista initially said in her showbiz-oriented program "StarTalk" that they might exchange wedding vows on February 14, Valentine's Day and her birthday, which created quite a stir on social media.

Reports said the couple "bumped off" the wedding of sports news anchor Cesca Litton and fiancé Tyke Kalaw in the same venue.

Last Tuesday in "Aquino & Abunda Tonight," Litton gave a statement confirming that she and Kalaw also planned a wedding in the exclusive island resort on February 14 but the resort called last minute to inform them that the venue was booked for Escudero and Evangelista's wedding.

Litton said they flew in to Balesin twice for ocular visits and already discussed food tasting, table layout and sat with the managers to talk about logistics of their wedding.

"It came as a surprise when I receive a phone call from my coordinator just last Saturday that Chiz and Heart have been approved for February 14 after they have spoken to the owner Mr. Ongpin to reserve the date," she added.

Litton added: "Had we known that all it took was a phone call to the owner, then perhaps none of these formalities should have been followed. In all our trips to Balesin, and discussions with management, asking to reserve Feb. 14 2015, we were always told it was always available. We would not have invested time and money including flying out our coordinator and stylist had they informed us that the venue was booked from the beginning."

After the hullabaloo, Escudero and Evangelista decided to have the wedding on February 15.

Litton, on her part, addressed all her bashers on Wednesday and said the issue is not about Escudero and Evangelista.
