MEGASTAR Sharon Cuneta has announced her departure from Kapatid network, TV5.

In A Facebook post late Friday evening, the seasoned actress said she is no longer connected with the station and hinted that she is slated for a television comeback.

"I am going to drop clues every now and then as to the things I will be working on which will start sooner than you think! So keep watching out for those clues," she wrote.

Hours after Cuneta's big announcement, TV5, through its Corporate Communications Department, issued a statement confirming the news. The station wishes the singer-actress well in her future endeavors.

To recall, Cuneta inked a five-year exclusive contract with TV5 in November 2011. It was rumored to be the biggest signing in local show business, with some reporting that Sharon closed a P1 billion deal.

During her stay in TV5, she did three shows, namely: "Sharon: Kasama Mo, Kapatid," "Madam Chairman" and "The Mega and the Songwriter" with close friend Ogie Alcasid.

A few weeks back, the megastar penned an open letter to her fans expressing her personal and professional disappointments.

She said she made few mistakes in her career, lost her focus on the job and was not able to control her weight gain.

"In my desire to venture into new territory and broaden my world, with the intention of giving you, my fans, supporters, and friends the rest of the best of me that I still had left, I made certain decisions that in the end, turned out to be of the wrong kind," she posted.

"It wasn't okay when I felt my "gifts" weren't being used to the fullest, or correctly, or even at all. So this became a vicious cycle. Ignoring that I had gained so much weight and therefore had limited myself to certain movie roles when there was so much more I wanted to do... And forgetting that as I was doing all this, time was passing me by," she added.

The megastar added that sh was going through mid-life crisis but close friend Judy Ann Santos and daughter KC Concepcion said that the actress is doing well now. (Sunnex)
