JUDY Ann Santos expressed sadness over the protracted rift between her manager Alfie Lorenzo and Regal Entertainment matriarch Lily Monteverde.

"Sa totoo lang hindi ko alam kung papaano ko sasagutin because pareho ko silang mahal. Sana lang nga hindi na lang nangyari," she said during the press launch of the newest ABS-CBN show "I Do".

She said the incident was unfortunate.

"If we can only turn back that day, noong nangyari 'yun, sana lang pwede ko siyang burahin ng liquid paper and ma-erase siya sa Internet, sa media and everything. It was an ugly situation of two friends," she said.

Last Friday, Monteverde got into a heated argument with Lorenzo over director Jose Javier Reyes, who directed Monteverde's latest movie "Somebody To Love".

During the press conference of the movie Lorenzo allegedly called Reyes "malas".

Monteverde retaliated and came to her director's defense.

Sources say the verbal tussle between Lorenzo and Monteverde lasted for almost 30 minutes until the former was dragged outside the venue.

During the interview with Santos, she shared the possible root of conflict between her manager and Reyes.

She said that two years ago, the writer/director tapped her to do "Mga Mumunting Lihim" for the annual Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival.

Santos said that as her manager, Lorenzo felt bypassed because Reyes went directly to her. She thought that issue between the three of them had been settled.

"Napag-usapan na. It was a little thing na dapat hindi na lumaki. Hindi na siya dapat lumabas kasi hindi naman involved ang ibang tao doon."

Right now, the actress is hopeful that friendship will be revived between Lorenzo and Monteverde.

Santos said she will not meddle or bridge in any reconciliation between the two as they are older and wiser than her.

"All I can do now is pray na sana someday ma-patch up nila itong nangyari because magkaibigan talaga silang tunay and sana hindi na lang ito maulit. May mga bagay na hindi natin hawak," the actress said.

"Ayaw kong sabihin na magiging tulay ako kasi pareho naman na nilang alam ang ginagawa nila. Hindi ako magiging daan para magsabi kung ano ang dapat nilang gawin dahil hindi hamak naman na mas bata ako sa kanila. Ayaw ko naman sabihin na dinidiktahan ko sila kasi hindi naman ako naging ganun to begin with. All I can do now is to pray that everything will be okay," she ended. (Sunnex)
