ACTOR Alden Richards is hoping for reconciliation between Aljur Abrenica and giant television network GMA Network Inc. after the actor recently went to court and asked the network to release him from his existing contract.

The two actors are part of the upcoming movie "Cain at Abel" but Richards said the recent turn of events might affect the screening of the movie.

Richards added that he has not spoken with Abrenica about the controversy, but he knows the "StarStruck" alumnus is going through some tough time.

"Alam ko nasa time siya ng challenges ngayon. Kailangan niya ang lahat ng suporta na makukuha niya, as much as possible, sa mga kaibigan niya showbiz and of course sa family," the actor said.

"Ako, pinagpe-pray ko na sana makabuti ang desisyon na ginagawa niya. Sana maging okay na soon," he added.

Reports say Richards' growing popularity has taken its toll on Abrenica's career, which prompted the hunk actor to ask for the cancellation of his contract.

"Wala naman sa aking nabanggit si Aljur na ganyan and regarding sa nagawa niyang decision. Siguro meron lang talagang hinahanap or meron lang talaga siyang gustong mangyari sa career niya. Sana malagpasan niya itong challenges na ito," he added.

Richards said there is no competition between him and Abrenica and they are good friends in and out of the show business.

The "Carmela" actor added that he is just doing what is expected of him by his audience and his mother network GMA-7.

"Ako ay nagtatrabaho lang talaga and I'm just doing my best pag binigyan ng project. Hindi ko po tine-take for granted, especially when it comes to soaps and movies na ginagawa ko kasi mahal na mahal ko itong craft ko. Paghihirapan ko talaga every project na ibigay sa akin," he said.

Aside from doing "Sunday All Star," Richards is slated to co-host the upcoming talent search "Bet ng Bayan" with Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez and period drama "Illustrado". (Sunnex)
