ASIA'S Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid led the Kapuso stars who joined the annual Sublian Festival in Batangas.

The singer got to meet and greet her supporters, as GMA Regional TV mounted a Kapuso Fans Day last July 24 at the Batangas City Sports Coliseum.

GMA also used the event to sympathize with the Batangueños who were affected by Typhoon Glenda recently.

The event kicked off with performances from "Dading" actors RJ Padilla, Benjamin Alves and Glaiza de Castro and ended with Regine owning the stage.

She also sang a duet with the winner of the "Sing and Look a la Songbird" contest.

Regine told Sun.Star and other entertainment press that this is her way of giving back to the fans who have been with her for years.

She said she's more active now in doing regional shows with her mother station, as these were planned out even before she gave birth to son Nate in November 2011.

"Talagang nag-iikot ako all over the country because I was supposed to do this before I got pregnant but wala akong nagawa because I was doing soaps and other things. Ngayon, since I'm not that busy, I get to do this," she said.

She added: "It's wonderful to meet the other fans from the other parts of the country. Excited naman sila to see us. All of them are memorable and I haven't been to these places in awhile."

Aside from Batangas, Regine also visited Dagupan, Vigan, Boracay, Iloilo and Davao.

"For the past four years, the City of Batangas has been a supportive partner of GMA Regional TV. That's why every Sublian Festival, the Kapuso network makes sure that we bring superior entertainment, through Kapuso Fans Day, to all Batanguenos,” said Oliver Amoroso, assistant vice president for GMA Regional TV.

The celebration continues on July 29 as "Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real" cast Diva Montelaba, Dominic Rocco, Rodjun Cruz and Lovi Poe will participate in the grand parade dubbed as "Sublian sa Kalye."

The grand parade will begin at 8 a.m. (Sunnex)
