LJ Reyes says she’s happy for Paulo Avelino, KC Concepcion-A A +A
Tuesday, July 22, 2014
ACTRESS LJ Reyes has responded to news that her ex-boyfriend, Paulo Avelino, and KC Concepcion, are currently dating.
In an interview on Tuesday, Reyes said that she and the father of his only son, Ethan Akio aka Aki, have remained as friends despite their breakup.
"We all want to be happy, we all want someone to be there for us and masarap din yung feeling na gusto mo meron kang companion. Hindi naman masama yun and hindi naman kailangan na parang merong time frame," she said.

Although she and Avelino do not discuss about Concepcion, Reyes said she is happy for the actor, who admitted last week that he is dating the daughter of Megastar Sharon Cuneta.
Reyes said what is important is they remain as responsible parents to their four-year-old son.
"Nag-uusap kami about kay Aki but we don't talk about other stuff or other things that are happening in his life or my life. In time I think mangyayari din yun and I think hindi pa ganun ka comfortable mag-usap about it and wala pang chance siguro. In time darating din yun," she said.
The actress said their son knows that his parents live separate lives.
"Alam naman niya kasi yung namulat yung consciousness niya, magkaiba na kami ng bahay ni Pau. Alam niya na merong Mommy's house and meron din na Daddy's house," she said.
"Every time naman na meron siyang question, sinasagot ko ng maayos. I talk to him in a very mature way, hindi 'yung parang baby," she added.
She said that Avelino is always there for their child and they will celebrate Aki's birthday on Thursday with their whole family.
Reyes, meanwhile, clarified that Kapamilya actor JC de Vera is not courting her.
"Hindi naman ata (siya nanliligaw). Friends talaga kami ni JC ever since. So, wag naman kayo magugulat kung nakita ninyo kami together," she said.
Reyes said she is not yet ready for any romantic relationship.
"Actually wala akong, even if merong nagpaparamdam, wala doon ang focus ko. Yung focus ko nasa anak ko, sa trabaho ko, sa pamilya ko as of the moment kasi andaming responsibilities. I'm very occupied with all of those things. Wala pang time para mag date," she said.
"Ayusin ko muna yung trabaho ko, yung sa baby ko. Kung meron, darating yan, magkakaroon yan. Pinag-pray ko lang lagi na tulungan ako ni God na maging careful for the next one," she added.
But if the right man comes, she is hopeful that they share the same faith, will love her son as his own and will make her very happy.
"Gusto ko din 'yung he will treat me well, very gentleman, respect, marami. Nakalista lahat yun ang alam ni God," she said
Reyes will be seen this August in Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival entry "The Janitor," starring Dennis Trillo and directed by Mike Tuviera.
The entry revolves around a suspended cop enlisted to eliminate suspects involved in a band robbery/massacre.
The said film is Reyes' third movie in the festival after doing "The Leaving" in 2010 and "Intoy Shokoy ng Kalye Marino" in 2012.
"Ang sarap sarap katrabaho ni Dennis because he makes everything easier. 'Pag magagaling yung kasama mo, mas madali yung yung trabaho mo as an actor. Tapos si Direk Mike pa na I'm very comfortable working with as a director," she said.
Cinemalaya 2014 will be held on August 1-10 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines and selected movie houses in Metro Manila. (Sunnex)
