ACTOR Zoren Legaspi said he is willing to "comply and cooperate" with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) regarding his alleged failure to pay P4.45 million in income tax to the government.

The actor was charged with tax evasion before the Department of Justice on Thursday for his alleged failure to supply correct and accurate information in his Income Tax Returns (ITRs) in 2010 and 2012.

In a statement released through Legaspi's business manager Shirley Kuan, Zoren said he agrees with government's policy that everyone should pay their taxes right.

"I'm more than willing to comply and cooperate regarding the on-going investigation of my tax liabilities. Aalamin po namin kung saan kami nag-kamali or kung nagkulang ba kami sa paliwanag," the actor said.

The actor added that it shows that the bureau is doing its job.

"I love my country kaya I will never evade any tax obligation. I just need to figure out kung saan kami nagkamali (without malice or intention) and I'm waiting lang po sa official complaint ng BIR," he said.

BIR reported that Legaspi only declared a gross income of P6.79 million in 2010 when it should be P9.64 million and P1.82 million from the P6.49 million in 2012.

As a result, he was given a total income tax liability of P4.45 million. (Sunnex)
