Piolo Pascual not leaving showbiz yet-A A +A
Tuesday, May 6, 2014
PIOLO Pascual's brief absence from show biz has fueled speculations that the hunk actor has decided to settle down and join his son, Inigo, in the United States.
But Pascual clarified in a Cinema News interview that he was away for weeks because he did two shows in Los Angeles, California, another event in Reno, Nevada and took a short break to be with his family.
"More than vacation, it was work. Konting R&R and I was able to spend some time with my son, my family, so, 'yun na ang pinakamahabang bakasyon ko," he said.
Pascual added that he would have stayed longer in the US if he has not signed any exclusive network contract with ABS-CBN recently.
"Baka kung 'di ako nakapirma. Tanggap ko na naman, na hindi ako puwedeng mag-decide para sa sarili ko. Sino ba naman ako para tumanggi sa grasya? Sino ba naman tayo para tumanggi sa offer?" the actor said.
The actor confirmed that he will soon return on television via "Hawak Kamay," a new television series. He will be joined by child actors Xyriel Manabat and Zaijian Jaranilla, Nikki Gil and Iza Calzado.
Aside from the series, he will also host a new program on ABS-CBN Sports and Action channel (formerly known as Studio 23).
The new sports show will air this June and he will be joined by actor Gerald Anderson and television personality Gretchen Ho.
Meantime, it's been a while since Pascual and rumored flame Shaina Magdayao were spotted in showbiz gatherings or even in personal snaps on Instagram.
Some fans are now speculating that the two went on their separate ways, even though they did not admit their blossoming romance in public.
Pascual clarified that they are okay and prefers to save their long-standing friendship.
"Whatever we have, we will always be friends. We've always been vocal of what we have. I think it's better that way dahil ma-preserve yung relationship namin," he said.
"Mahirap (pag) kayo tapos mawawala tapos di ninyo ma-save yung relationship. I guess that is holding between us, there's relationship there," he ended. (Sunnex)
