YOUNG actor Elmo Magalona is excited that his sister, Saab, will be getting married soon and thrilled that their whole family witnessed the wedding proposal.

Last March 29, musician Jim Bacarro went down on one knee and proposed to actress/fashion blogger Saab Magalona in her dream destination, Japan.

In an interview with Elmo, the "Villa Quintana" actor shared that Jim asked Saab's hand in marriage prior to the trip and his sister had no idea of what will happen during that short family vacation.

Older sister Maxene and mother Pia documented the special event and uploaded their personal snaps in image-sharing application Instagram.

"Kami may alam kami kung ano yung mangyayari and sobrang dream yun ni Saab na ma-engaged or makasal sa (lugar) na merong mga cherry blossoms. I'm happy na nabigay sa kanya yun ni Jim. I think this next chapter in their life will be the best," he said.

The Kapuso talent added that they're happy for the newly engaged couple and looking forward to their wedding in 2015.

"Ganun na nga siguro kami katatanda na may magpapakasal na sa aming magkakapatid. Pero no sadness at all (na she's getting married). After 20 years kami kami yung magkakasama kaya I think this time, dapat ibigay na din niya yung time niya sa ibang tao, dun sa nagmamahal sa kanya," he said.

As for Elmo, the 20-year-old sees himself getting married at the age of 27 or in his early 30s. But for now, he said he will just enjoy his youth.

"Wala pa ako doon sa mentality na magpapakasal ako kasi ngayon na feeling ko hindi pa ako nakakawala dun sa teen life ko," he said.

"I think that's better (age) din so that you'll have time to think and save for the future kasi hindi naman maliit na bagay yung gagawin mo. It's sharing vows with someone who you will spend the rest of your life with. Hindi sya maliit na bagay," he added.

Elmo, a son of the late Master Rapper Francis Magalona, is currently dating Janine Gutierrez, eldest daughter of Lotlot de Leon and Ramon Christopher Gutierrez. (Sunnex)
