KAPAMILYA actress Maja Salvador said she understands why Queen of All Media Kris Aquino is closer to former best friend, Cebuana star Kim Chiu.

"Sobrang love ko yun si Tita Kris and totoo naman na close si tita kay Kim. So walang dapat paglabanin. Ang importante doon, okay din kami ni Tita Kris. Mas nakakasama talaga niya si Kim," she said in a Cinema News interview aired over the weekend.

Three weeks ago, one of Aquino's followers on Instagram left a comment questioning the frequent appearance of Chiu in the morning lifestyle program "Kris TV." The basher also left a negative comment on the television host's closeness with Chiu.

"If they stand by [you] during the bad times, they deserve to be there during the good times,” Aquino said in reply.

Aquino explained that Chiu was with her when she had a personal crisis in 2013 and they’ve shared many secrets, laughter and tears over the years.

Salvador said she is open to reconcile with Chiu after their friendship turned sour when she started dating the latter’s ex-boyfriend, actor Gerald Anderson.

"Isang taon na yun and tao din naman kaming lahat na pwede kaming magpatawad, pwede kaming mag-start ulit,” Salvador said.

Meanwhile, Salvador said she only have the highest regard for Anderson’s mother, Vangie, after reports say the latter is not in favor of their romance.

"Sobrang okay kami ni Tita Vangie. Grabe yung respeto ko sa kanya kaya ayokong magsalita ng magsalita. Importante din sa akin yung fans nila (Kim and Gerald). Hindi naman ako parte ng love team kaya kami tahimik (na lang)," she said. (Sunnex)
