ACTOR Dennis Trillo said that his previous primetime series "My Husband's Lover," which he co-starred with Carla Abellana and Tom Rodriguez, revived his career in the entertainment business.

Last Friday, the 32-year-old actor received his first Best Actor trophy at the 5th Golden Screen TV Awards organized by the Entertainment Press Society for his portrayal of Eric Del Mundo, a gay man, in the series.

The actor said the trophy is special to him as it somehow validated his performance in the program.

Trillo added that because of "My Husband's Lover," people started taking notice of him again. Following the show's success, whole cast had travelled abroad and did a series of concerts for the Filipino community there.

"Nagpapasalamat ako kasi tinangkilik ng marami and at the same time bumalik yung interest ng tao sa akin at mas nagustuhan ako ulit," he said.

Naging mas maayos, mas maliwanag 'yung future ko and yung gusto kong puntahan sa career ko," he said.

Although there's added pressure on him, the actor is certain his mother network GMA-7 and manager Popoy Caritativo will help him along the way.

Trillo also shared his Best Actor award to co-star Rodriguez, who was also nominated in the top acting category. He said his success is the success of the whole cast.

Malaki yung part din niya yung performance ko," he said.

The actor will be featured next in Mike Tuviera's "The Janitor," an independent film slated to be released in July at the Cinemalaya Film Festival. He is also doing two movies under Regal Films.

When asked if there's a special sometime who inspires him to work more, Dennis simply smiled and reiterated that he is single.

Mas masaya ako," he ended. (Sunnex)
