FANS will have to wait a little longer for another Richard Gomez-Dawn Zulueta project as the latter is paired up with new leading man in th newest evening series of ABS-CBN, "Dyesebel."
Gomez and Zulueta's reunion project in 2012 television series "Walang Hanggan" proved to be a big hit among viewers and many thought that more projects are coming for the perennial love team this year.
Their supposed second reunion project entitled "You're My Home" was axed by ABS-CBN and Zulueta later declined to star in a movie with Gomez.
The actress said that she's keen to working again with Gomez but she turned down the big screen project as she's looking for another material. She wants it to be extra special as it will serve as a comeback movie for their love team.
While Gomez is slated to star opposite Gretchen Barretto in an upcoming movie, Zulueta is busy with the newest primetime show top billed by Anne Curtis.
She is now being paired with seasoned actor Albert Martinez.
"He's very intelligent, he's interested in his character, he's developing his character and masarap 'yun sa trabaho kasi may katapunan ka," said Zulueta when asked about her new leading man at the grand press launch of the series.
The actress added that among her contemporaries in the industry, Martinez is one of those she is looking up to for his talent and passion for acting.
"He's so dedicated to his work. I admire him because he's one of the few actors in our generation who takes his craft very seriously. Hindi nagrereklamo, ang hirap ng trabaho pero ang galing galing. Tapos ang daming idea niya at ang dami kong natutunan sa kanya. It made working with easy," she said.
Meanwhile, the 45-year-old actress is also excited to work with the younger stars of today. She's happy to star opposite Gerald Anderson, whom she worked with in "Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin" and to share the boob tube for the first time with Curtis, Andi Eigenmann and Sam Milby.
"I'm always excited to work with new blood. Sa tinagal tagal ko na sa industriya, siyempre marami ka ng nakakatrabaho. I look forward to working with the veterans and the young ones as well. They are all so talented," she said.
She's particularly impressed with Curtis who went rigorous training for her mermaid role.
"Hinahangaan ko how hard she works and the effort she puts in the role. Nakikita ko na nag-twirl pa siya and mahirap yun. Yung sakripisyo na ginawa talaga niya is paying off," she said.
Zulueta also said she accepted the project without a second thought.
"This is an iconic character, a favorite Filipino character. To be part of this production na Dreamscape ang nag handle, talagang exciting for me. Maganda din yung role na nabigay sa akin."
"Dyesebel" airs weekdays after "TV Patrol" on ABS-CBN. (Sunnex)
