GERALD Anderson dismissed rumors that his mother, Evangeline Opsima, likes her son's ex-flame Kim Chui better than Maja Salvador, the actor's current girlfriend.

In a recent "Buzz ng Bayan" report, Opsima said she does not meddle in the romantic affairs of her son but told the actor to be more cautious.

Opsima's statement prompted showbiz observers to speculate that Anderson's mother does not approve of his relationship with Salvador.

During the grand press launch of newest primetime fantaserye "Dyesebel," Anderson clarified that his mother is just protective of him.

"No of course not. Yung Nanay ko, siguro alam ng lahat na ganun talaga siya, she's a very strong woman. Ganun talaga siya magsalita pero di naman siya nakikialam," he said.

He clarified that all is well between his mother and his girlfriend.

"Okay naman sila, steady, they're doing good. Sobrang happy ako, sobrang blessed ko na lahat ng parte ng buhay is coming together at it’s a journey and kasama kayo sa journey na 'yun," he said.

The actor said his mother is much closer to his ex-girlfriend because they have known each other for years now.

"Gustong-gusto niya si Kim kasi si Kim napakabait na tao and sobrang naging close sila at hindi magbabago ('yun),"

Anderson said the people should not compare Chui to Salvador since he is now in a relationship with the latter and he sees the effort exerted by the actress to be closer to his family.

The actor confirmed that his mother and Salvador have already met.

"Wala ako doon at sila lang, nandito ako sa Manila. Nag show sila (Maja) dun (General Santos City) and okay naman. Typical Nanay," she said.

"They're very okay. In fairness naman po kay Maja she really made an effort also. That's very important," he added during an interview in "Aquino & Abunda Tonight."

Anderson said that what is important to him is that he is happy, Salvador is happy and his mother is supportive of his relationship.

"At the end of the day kailangan masaya lahat. Kung hindi, ibig sabihin may mali talaga. Ako bilang lalake kailangang hanapin ko yung mali na 'yun at gawing tama," he ended. (Sunnex)
