JUST like any other relationship, actress Carla Abellana said her four-year romance with actor Geoff Eigenmann has its share of ups and down.

Rumors say the showbiz couple is going through a rough patch, especially when one of them is rumored to be close to a co-star.

In an interview by "StarTalk" on Sunday, Abellana confirmed that problems exist in their relationship but they still try to make it work.

"Hindi naman ito yung first time na nagkaka-problema kami or nahihirapan kami. That's completely normal for any relationship," she said.

Abellana continued: "Lagi naman kasi may problema, kungbaga, it's a phase. It goes on regularly, hindi naman kami always and forever happy."

The actress also denied that the problem stemmed from jealousy, saying that it was never an issue in their relationship.

"Masyado na kaming matanda for that and kanino ako magseselos and kanino naman siya magseselos, wala. Kungbaga sa dami ng pwedeng maging problema ng couple, jealousy is way down there," she said.

When asked to comment on the rumored closeness between her boyfriend and his "Adarna" co-star Kylie Padilla, who is also in a relationship with Kapuso actor Aljur Abrenica, the actress said, "Hindi ko alam, walang umaabot sa akin."

Abellana shared what she noticed is how "Adarna" made an impact in her boyfriend's personal life. She said Geoff made new friends and enjoyed working again after months of layoff.

"Ang napansin ko lang kay Geoff at sa 'Adarna,' sobrang nag-enjoy siya. Sabi niya na 'ito pala yung sinasabi mo na what happened to you with 'My Husband's Lover' na na-enjoy mo yung castmates mo. Na pwede pala 'yun, na sa trabaho nagpupuyat kayo and nagpapagod, pwede pala mag-enjoy,'" she said.

Abellana meanwhile is confident that she and her boyfriend will overcome, fix and surpass the problem together.

"Hangga't maaayos, aayusin natin because sa dami na ng pinagdaanan namin, sa dami na din ng sacrifices, ayaw mo namang sayangin basta basta na lang 'yun," Carla ended. (Sunnex)
