ACTOR Coco Martin denied claims that he is romantically involved with Julia Montes, the actor's co-star in "Ikaw Lamang."

The two actors worked together in "Walang Hanggan" in 2012 followed by Star Cinema movie "A Moment in Time" early last year. Both Kapamilya stars are also consistent in saying they are just close and are comfortable working opposite each other.

Because of this, rumors have started to spread that their friendship has turned into romance. However, Martin denied such claims.

Nagiging masyado akong kuya pag nagkakasama kaming dalawa," he said.

Martin said their relationship remains platonic. He likes Montes because they came from same background and were raised by their grandmothers.

The seasoned actor added that he sometimes sees himself in her.

Para siyang girl version ko," he said.

Montes, on her part, said Martin is like her older brother. She said the actor is always there to lend a helping hand, guide her, and will show support even though they did several projects with different partners.

He's really a good friend," she said.

When asked if there's a possibility that friendship will eventually turn into romance, the actress replied: "Mahirap magsalita nang tapos.

Montes and Martin will star in "Ikaw Lamang" with Jake Cuenca and Kim Chiu starting March 10 on ABS-CBN Primetime Bida. (Sunnex)
