Vice Ganda speaks on rift with Karylle-A A +A
Thursday, February 20, 2014
COMEDIAN Vice Ganda finally broke his silence on the reported rift between him and his "It's Showtime" co-host Karylle.
In Wednesday thanksgiving press conference for his 2013 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) movie "Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy," Vice admitted that he and Karylle are not on talking terms for weeks.
The comedian said the rift started when Karylle's failed to attend a victory party he hosted for his close friends for the success of his MMFF movie.
"Chinat siya nina Vhong (Navarro) and Anne (Curtis).
Vice said he invited the whole "It's Showtime" family and he wouldn't miss informing Karylle because the singer was also part of the MMFF movie.
"Wala kasi akong driver," 'yun ang sumunod niyang dahilan. 'Wala akong driver, wala akong ride," Vice said.
Vice said Navarro volunteered to fetch Karylle as he lives near her place but the latter declined to attend the event.
Nalungkot ako talaga," he said.
Vice said he deliberately ignored Karylle for several days but when Navarro's condo mauling incident made headlines, he let go of past hurt to step up and lead the team during that difficult moment.
"Dahil may issue sa 'Showtime,' I had to lead the group. I have to stand. Dedma muna ako sa personal kong arte. Yung tampo ko, dedma muna and magktrabaho muna".
The comedian and the singer started talking again until Vice heard something that hurt him.
He recalled that one day, Karylle was absent in episode of the noontime show when director Bobet Vidanes caught up with her somewhere.
Ine-echos mo naman pala ako'," Vice said.
Vice said Karylle talked to Vidanes and told him the real reason why she was absent from the program.
Vice added.
"Tapos, sobra na raw siyang pissed off na sobrang sasabog na at any time ay susugod na sa studio," he said.
The "Gandang Gabi Vice" main man said he was offended by Yael's comment on their on-screen team-up. He then confronted Karylle on this but the singer denied such story.
"Sabi niya hindi raw totoo. Wala raw siyang sinasabing ganun.
From that moment, Vice said he became aloof of Karylle and decided to distance himself from the singer.
Vice shared that he initially didn't want to do their love team as everyone knows he's gay. But he said yes because of Karylle.
The comedian said they're civil with each other now since he doesn't want their personal issues to affect the entire "It's Showtime" family. He said Karylle apologized to him and sent him flowers and card.
"Let's just work hard. I will do my job pero dedma na ako sa love team na yan. We can still be friend pero dedma na ako sa love team.
Kung ako man ang nagkasala, sana maunawaan nila ako," he added.
When asked if he's going to Karylle's wedding, Vice said he hasn't received any invitation and doesn't know if he's coming but wish the couple all the happiness. (Sunnex)
