DIAMOND Star Maricel Soriano made a giant leap on Wednesday as she inked a new program deal with the Kapuso Network.

The contract signing was attended by GMA Chairman and CEO Felipe Gozon, Vice President for Entertainment Lilybeth Rasonable, Drama Productions head Redgie Acuña-Magno, and Soriano's manager Shirley Kuan.

The seasoned actress is set to topbill upcoming primetime drama series "Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real" directed by Andoy Ranay. She will share the boob tube with actress Lovi Poe and Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes.

Soriano said she is excited to work for the first time with Dantes and happy to reunite with Poe after their 2012 Regal movie "Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow."

"Excited na excited ako kasi maganda 'yung story. Ibang set ng mga kabataan naman yung mga makakatrabaho ko ngayon. Alam ko ito ay magiging masaya," the actress said.

She added that the show marks a good start for her in the Kapuso channel.

"Mag-look forward na tayo sa kung ano yung susunod na kabanata. Lahat tayo pwedeng mag-move on. Positive na lahat. Gusto ko maging happy ako," he said.

Aside from Dantes and Poe, she's also looking forward to working with "My Husband's Lover's" lead actors Carla Abellana, Tom Rodriguez, Dennis Trillo and GMA-7 Primetime Queen Marian Rivera.

Meanwhile, Resonable said they are happy that Soriano decided to join GMA's stable of stars.

"We're very happy na pumayag siya sa project na ito. We're looking forward sa tagisan ng acting ng show na ito na dapat abangan ng mga manonood," she said.

"She is a precious actress na makakadagdag sa drama ng GMA. At sana maging pleasant na experience sa kanya ang maging isang Kapuso. We look forward na mapanood natin siya sa telebisyon sa mga susunod na buwan," she added.

Soriano's last project was "Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy" with Vice Ganda for the 2013 Metro Manila Film Festival. (Sunnex)
