TELEVISION host Heart Evangelista said her recent interview with 22-year-old model Deniece Cornejo, the woman who cried rape against host-comedian Vhong Navarro, is the toughest she's done yet.

Last Sunday, Deniece was interviewed by Heart and veteran writer Butch Francisco on celebrity talk show "StarTalk" of GMA-7.

Heart said it was a frustrating experience since they hosts only allowed to ask certain questions to Deniece. She added the network's legal department and the model's lawyers were present and monitoring the said interview.

"It was very tough. I had a hard time. I heard a lot of stuff on Twitter, but I understand the frustration because everybody wants her to speak and say more about what really happened," Heart said at the press conference of her latest product endorsement.

She said that their questions were submitted and checked hours before going live on television.

"We couldn't change. Our hands are tied. We couldn't add... wala. And I had no choice but to deliver. I was actually so frustrated," she said.

Heart added: "I'm very vocal, spontaneous with the questions usually but if there's something else that we could do, I understand the frustration but really wala na kaming magagawa."

The host said she had misgivings before doing the said exclusive interview as she's more used to tackling lighter subject on television. Nevertheless, she took it as part of her job as a host.

"I'm torn and it was my first time as a host to interview someone who is controversial. I'm known for the entertainment side, what's hip, what's happening, what's hot, what's the new show. But this is something new given to me," Heart said.

"I'm not used to handling that kind of situation (because) it's so serious and so controversial. Everybody wanted to hear, everybody is watching," she added.

If given the chance to raise her own questions to Deniece, Heart said she will definitely asked the model on what really transpired that Wednesday evening at the condominium unit in Bonifacio Global City.

"Ano ba talagang nangyari nung gabing yun? Bakit lahat ng tao hindi naniniwala sa iyo. Why that exist? Really more on getting answers from what really happened and what is the truth."

Meanwhile, Heart also reacted to critics questioning her hosting skills.

The Kapuso star said she's not in the habit of comparing herself to others and she gives her 100 percent in her job.

"It's a natural thing that they would always compare. But wala, ganun talaga. You cannot please everybody. I do sometimes get affected but after a while, you get tired feeling that. That's all I could give."

"You do what is given to you. You do your job... you (give) your best. That's the only thing that I could do," she ended. (Sunnex)
