The Kuala Lumpur City Gallery

Tuesday, March 3, 2015 - 11:36 a.m.

STRATEGICALLY located right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s well preserved heritage site Merdeka Square, the Kuala Lumpur City Gallery is a 360-degree tour of all things Asian and Malaysian in no less than 30 minutes. An attraction that feeds every tourist’s hunger in discovering well-kept heritage stories, the Kuala Lumpur City Gallery is Malaysian culture, entertainment and politics in a nutshell.

With a towering 100-meter flagpole, this place is like the Kawit, Cavite of the Philippines where the first national flag was raised. With more than a century to tell, it houses many historical buildings and structures that are worth every penny.

Great day, doc. Just call me Selma K. of Nabunturan. My problem is I am having this hair falls for about two years now. I see a lot of hair in my pillows, in my comb and in the shower. I can't even comb now. I just use my fingers to keep my hair. As a matter of fact, I've been trying to hide my bald patches in my head. I have already tried many hair products to solve my problems. But, they don't seem to work. This had already caused me so much embarrassment. I don't even want to go out now. Why is this happening? What could be the cause? I am hoping that you can give me home remedies for this. Please help me, doc.

For the love of Cebuano music

Monday, March 2, 2015 - 08:37 p.m.

THE local music industry can be peppered with canned opuses, greedy commercial pursuits and crab mentality. In Cebu, this hard reality is probably pushing Cebuano music—as in music written with the Cebuano dialect—to the gutter of the imported-sound driven scene. It’s a hard world but many homegrown artists are not quitting the dream of being heard. Not yet, or maybe never. As long as platforms for exposure are available, the game is on.

AFTER a turbulent Year of the Wood Horse, many of us are tired of the sudden “gallops” in fate and looking forward to a more stable Lunar New Year in 2015. Thankfully, that is what the Year of the Wood Sheep promises, especially for those who experienced less-than-stellar fortunes in their immediate past. It’s been said that this is a time to “heal the chaos” brought by the turbulent horse—a time for us to collect ourselves after the political and economic turmoil that characterized the past years.

Costanilla: Bishop Camomot, Grant Us Peace

Sunday, March 1, 2015 - 07:55 p.m.

MOVIE. Yes, I’m serious about my suggestion, as I wrote here last week, that a movie on the life of a Cebuano bishop be produced and shown, just like what was done for San Pedro Calungsod when his beatification started leading to his eventual canonization.

As we all know, there is now a continuing move for the Vatican to start the beatification of Bishop Teofilo Camomot, whose roots are in Carcar City.

Moises and Palmares: Dating again

Saturday, February 28, 2015 - 05:04 p.m.

Michelle: We have a reader named Derek who is asking for dating tips. He has not dated for a long time. So have I! Seriously, the first dating tip that I can give Derek is: You don’t have to date. Society abides by a timeline that expects singles to be married at a certain age. And when you’ve gotten married, people expect you to have a child and when you have one, ask when you’ll have another. So Derek, ask yourself why you want to date. Is it because you feel you have to because all your friends are getting engaged or married? Is it because you’re bored?

Saturday, February 28, 2015 - 04:53 p.m.

WE now know that there’s a powerful relationship between exercise and sexual performance. Today’s article will be on moves that enhance sexual performance. Basically the act of sex in kinesiology (functional anatomy) requires a strong core to stabilize the pelvis and powerful hip extensors to drive the hip thrust. If you notice the hip during the act of sex, it is brought into a position of anterior pelvic tilt and then into a position of posterior pelvic tilt once the hip is thrusted. Today’s series of exercises will focus on those movements.
