KIDS will always be kids, and like any hyperactive youngster looking for some “me” time, that’s exactly what they need. Should they want that heavy dose of fun even for just a few minutes, there’s no harm in giving them just that. The playground of Ayala Center Cebu is one of the most convenient playgrounds there is the city. The first-come-first-served playground requires children to be chaperoned by adults. The play area can accommodate children between three to 12 years of age.

The Ayala Center Cebu play area is locatedf at the basement level one.

Saturday, March 14, 2015 - 06:56 p.m.

WHILE you wander through the mall with your to-do list, let your child’s imagination wander as well at Bubi Blocks Play and Learn. The idea is to leave the children at the play space of colorful building blocks and let them explore their creativity by forming different figures like cars, house or what-have-you by putting together the blocks they can get hold of. The initiative not only encourages education for the young individuals but social interaction too since they are exposed to other kids creativity.

Moises and Palmares: Start anew

Saturday, March 14, 2015 - 06:52 p.m.

DJ: We have times that we are hurting so much that it’s just too difficult to pretend otherwise. If only it were easy to get away from our problems and leave it all behind. It’s timely then that since it’s the season of Lent, we should have a personal cleanup time that gives us more room for new beginnings. Part of it is letting go of what can’t be to make way for what can be. Of course, it’s nice to persevere, to hold on, to keep on keeping on.

Luab: Crosses our poor have to bear

Saturday, March 14, 2015 - 06:51 p.m.

When I asked why there were two price tags, she asked me to wait and after ten minutes the area floor manager arrived.

Pile the family quickly into the van Catch the boat to Davao as fast as you can Make sure the bill of lading has been paid And everything needed For a vacation is perfectly laid Enjoy the starry night in heaven’s wide screen As the boat sails smoothy, we have joy within.

A giant among (taller) giants

Thursday, March 12, 2015 - 11:23 p.m.

IT STANDS meekly at the center of its towering brothers in the hospitality business. Its allure is in no way diminished by its lack of height. For Holiday Inn Bangkok, less elevation doesn't necessarily mean less in power.

The Holiday Inn Bangkok wants to "keep thing uncomplicated." If you choose to the stay in the hotel, then it is where they want (and need) to be-in a modern, well-appointed 379-room hotel at the center of it all. Holiday Inn Bangkok's address is in the prime area of the Big Mango, a spot it shares with the hotels next door.

Ramp Buzz: Stylishly sun-protected

Thursday, March 12, 2015 - 04:43 p.m.

IN case the heat and blazing sun haven’t made it evident, summer is officially upon Cebu. With the strong sun in this tropical weather, it is ideal to wear sunblock everyday, even when it’s not summer. Exposure to UV rays affects skin below the surface, causing premature wrinkles and other types of skin damage. Some would resort to wearing long sleeves to protect skin from the sun, but when temperatures are this high, that’s an uncomfortable option for many.

Hauntingly arresting Ireland

Thursday, March 12, 2015 - 09:12 a.m.

THE feast of St. Patrick, "All Hallow's Eve," the Gaelic language, the lady pirate Grace O'Malley, U2, and Colin Farrell. The references are unmistakable. The land is, without a doubt... Ireland.

West of Great Britain and across the Irish Sea, the Emerald Isle—as Ireland is fondly called—reeks of originality. What can be more unique than the poignant music of Enya or the other-worldly mysticism of the Celts. Not only that, with its unbridled idealism and uncompromising tradition, Ireland inspires.
