Guv inaugurates 19 classrooms in Lambunao-A A +A

ILOILO Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. inaugurated Thursday 19 new classrooms at the Lambunao East Campus of Lambunao National High School (LNHS).
Of the 19 new classrooms, eight came from the Philippine Amusement and Games Corporation (Pagcor), six from Third District congressman Arthur Defensor Jr., and five came from Defensor.
LNHS is one of the seven public high schools in Iloilo province that benefitted from the Pagcor project requested by Gov. Defensor from Pagcor chairman Cristino Naguiat Jr.
The other beneficiaries are the national high schools in the towns of Balasan (5 classrooms, one-storey building), Estancia (5 classrooms, one-storey building), Janiuay (18 classrooms in two structures), Leon (4 classrooms, one-storey building), Pototan (10 classrooms in two structures) and Oton (8 classrooms, two-storey building).
LNHS principal Luda Ahumada said the project would address the problem on classroom shortage in their school that accommodates more than 3,000 students.
Naguiat said Pagcor has allotted P5 billion through the Department of Education (DepEd) for the construction of school buildings all over the Philippines and another P1 billion for the installation of computer laboratories.
